I love some 1970s excess, which is pretty much at the heart of the Glam Rock home collection by Jan Constantine.

Yes, the Glam Rock era. A time of make-up, sequins, bold colours and platform shoes. Ok, the music was a mixed bag when you listen back to it, but if you include Bowie, Bolan and Roxy Music in the mix, I think it’s safe to say that at least some of it has aged well.

More so than the fashion, that’s for sure. But a splash of the Glam in your home is no bad thing if you want to add some colour and fun into a room. That’s the idea with this collection from Jan Constantine.

Symbols of that era are at the forefront of it. So the Bowie ‘lightning’, the glitter ‘star’, the platform shoe and more are reworked as cushions, decorations and even on a tote bag.

I’ve picked out a few examples here to give you a flavour of the collection. The majority of the designs are used on those cushions, which feature sequins stitched onto the felt wool background, with contrast stitching on the edges and the designer’s initials subtly added into the mix.

The end product will certainly add a bit of glamour to your sofa and get visitors talking. Not cheap though. If you want a cushion, they vary in price between £43 and £98, with the tote bag at £86 and the decorations selling for £29.

Now if she could bring back the psychedelic cushions, everything will be perfect.
