It celebrates 70 years next year, but the Jens Risom dining table for Knoll still looks every bit at home in the modern house.
It was designed in 1941, part of his original collection for Knoll and all about a natural, understated Scandinavian look – something that has stodd it in great stead all these years.
The Table is available in a choice of clear maple with maple legs or in a walnut finish. You can see it 'in use' over the page for an idea of size, with prices from £1,151.
London's Rocket Gallery are putting on another exhibition of Jens Risom furniture next month, this time with a difference as the gallery has been given the European licence to reissue Risom's designs.
The collection has been done in collaboration with the furniture makers, Benchmark, all under the supervision of a now very elderly Risom. It includes nine pieces originally designed in the 1950s and 60s, including chairs, a desk, side tables and an upholstered bench, recreated in a mixture of oak and walnut versions.
There's no mention of prices yet but if you fancy a look the exhibition runs from 2 July to 4 September.
