Designheure reissues 1970s Nonne ceiling light by Raoul Raba

Nonne

A minor classic of space age design is back on the market – the Nonne ceiling light by Raoul Raba, also known as the 'Nun'.

Dating back to 1972 and reissued by Designheure, it's a design typical of the era, but at the same time, very individual. Made from a single piece of metal, it offers up a curved, fluid shape that partly exposes the bulb and throws out a very distinctive shot of light.

That metal is lacquered steel and the price of the reissued light is £321 online.

1960s Radiolaire table lamp by Raoul Raba

Radio_table

We featured the ceiling version a couple of days back, but now we've discovered another variation of this 1960s gem – the Radiolaire table lamp.

Designed by Raoul Raba in 1968, it's a mix of functional item and decorative art, using polycarbonate to create that strange space age shape, which is actually handcrafted in a small factory in its native France, underpinned by an enamelled aluminium frame.

Available online, it sells for £206.

1960s Radiolaire suspension light by Raoul Raba reissued

Radiolaire

Looking to bring the clouds into your home? Well, the Radiolaire suspension light by Raoul Raba can't quite do that, but it does at least try for the same effect.

Designed by Raba in 1968 and reissued by Designheure, it does indeed offer up a cloud-like structure, or a 'giant flower of light' if you want the official description. Made on a small scale with a significant amount of handcrafting today, the lamp's outer shell is created from polycarbonate, with a base in enamelled steel and around 2m of cable for a drop of pretty much any height.

You can pick one up online, with the Radiolaire retailing for £247.
