The Padgett delft rug from the Designer Guild is another design that seems to look to the 1960s and '70s in its design. The bold geometric pattern doesn't look dissimilar to some of David Hicks' numbers from that period. That's no bad thing and the Designer Guild seem to have realised that too as they've also used the pattern on a black throw and, in various colourways, on wallpaper.

The pattern arguably looks the most sophisticated on this rug which measures 160 x 260cm and is a wool and viscose mix. The sophistication costs however: in this case £695.

  1. You know what else that rug reminds me of? Those 3d paintings. Ya know, stare at it long enough and maybe you’ll see an image come forth from the design? Do they still make those paintings…?
