There have been a few dissenting voices about the authenticity of this design, but according to Fred Perry, this is a remake of the original 1952 Fred Perry polo shirt.

Fred Perry has recreated the original 1952 shirt from archive imagery and illustrations, offering the vintage design in six colourways – white, light fawn, maroon, glacier blue, old navy and black, two of which are pictured here. It's also twin-tipped, with a two-button collar.

But there is one key difference from any archive piece – the shirt has a specially-designed ’52 12′ Laurel on the chest, which is definitely a love or hate thing.

If you love, it's available online for £70.
