The Normann Onkel sofa has a 1950s-inspired shape but with an interesting twist.
While the simplified shape may nod to the mid-century, the back of the sofa looks even further back to the over-stuffed and fancier upholstery efforts of the nineteenth century. It creates an interesting twist on a shape now so common on the high street. The seat then sits on top of a lacquered wood underframe.
Designed by Simon Legald, the sofa is available in five different colours. The colour is used on every detail of the sofa, including the frame, helping to tie the various aspects of the design together.
The sofa costs £2670.
