Now this is exciting. No doubt fired up by the success of the 1950s Lovet table reissue, Ikea has just confirmed the launch of the Argang Collection, which is essentially reissues of midcentury classics from the company.
The designs are described as ‘faithful old servants’ from the archives of Ikea, everything from furniture and lighting through to textiles and tableware. Basically, they show just how timeless some of these pieces really are.
There are 26 products in total, some of which are pictured here and all of which seem to be incredibly affordable. At least, based on the prices being quoted for the US market.
We have yet to see what the UK pricing will be, but as a guide, the Ekenaset sofa pictured here will be $399, the Lillbron coffee table is $99.99, the Klappa easy chair is $29.99, the Gagnet armchair is $59.99 and the wonderful three-pronged Arjeplog pendant lights will be just $69.99. We expect demand to be very high when all of this lands at ‘selected’ stores.
