What looks like a ‘must have’ book is released later this year. But you can already pre-order The Vintage Fashion Bible: The style guide to vintage looks 1920s -1990s by Wayne Hemingway and Gerardine Hemingway.

This 24-page book is published by David & Charles and released on 30th October 2015, promising ‘a complete chronological look at 20th century fashion’ for both men and women and from the point of view of the vintage fashion lover rather than from an academic perspective.

The book uses clothing catalogues, film posters, magazine articles and advertising from each period to create an ‘authentic feel’ for each decade to show how fashions evolved, as well as offering an introduction to the period, social influences on fashion, key designers and style icons of the day.

You might be pleased to know that the book doesn’t just focus on the obvious, with special features on swimwear, underwear, accessories and vintage wedding outfits too, along with tips and insider advice on how to get the vintage look of each era today.

If that sounds like a book you need on your shelves, you can pre-order now, with the hardback selling for £25.
