We actually spotted these in the latest issue of Atomic Ranch. Ever since, we have been lusting after the Tyler sofa and armchair by Casara Modern.
Like most of the maker / retailer’s range, these are very stylised takes on furnishings from the 1960s. Basically, if you want seating that screams out the word ‘midcentury’, then this is the range for you.
Sloping back, sharp angles, wooden frames, button backs, period cloths, tapered legs…all the boxes are ticked. Plenty of colours to choose from too, should you be after a particular retro shade.
Both sofa and armchair are handmade from solid alder wood, which is stained in a rich walnut, while the cushions feature a zip closure for easy removal and cleaning.
As for price, you are looking at around $1,400 for the sofa and $695 for the chair. From that, you will have ascertained that the seating is made in the US. It isn’t clear if Casara Modern ship internationally.
