Yes, you can make your own slice of 1980s audio, courtesy of this DIY Boombox.

New in at Firebox, this looks every by like the 1980s radio cassette player you might have had as a kid, but obviously is doesn’t quite have the output of those old school classics.

It’s actually made of a ‘durable’ cardboard – just fold it up, slide in the 2x 3W speakers, add some batteries and you have completed the project. That’s right, not exactly a full weekend required.

But you will be proud of your handy work and once completed, this has a 10m Bluetooth range to get the tunes pumping out – or a microUSB cable if that’s easier.
