These were incredibly popular last year, so good to see the Reka 1960s-style DAB radio at Aldi once again in some new finishes.
I think it was popular for two reasons. Firstly, the design of this DAB radio hints at the design of a leading maker (I think you know who we are talking about) and as such, it is likely to appeal to potential buyers of that brand.
Which leads me into the second point, which is the price. Yes, this is a limited edition from Aldi (both instore and online) and as such, it comes at a price far less than that market leader of retro DABs. This is a fraction of the price of the branded equivalent and looks just as good in your retro interior. That should seal the deal.
I don’t think the radio has changed much, if at all, in the last 12 months. The one key difference is the finish. The cream colour is still available, but there is now a retro shade of green (the most appealing for me) available to pick up this time around. If you want to go down a completely different route you can also pick up a spotty version as well as a radio with a floral exterior. Hopefully one of those finishes works for you and your kitchen/bedroom/living room.
As for the features, the radio offers both FM and DAB reception, as well as offering 20 presets, a 24-hour clock with automatic update and Bluetooth capability. Power is by batteries or mains. Pretty much everything you would want of a DAB radio really. But with the added benefit of a 1960s look and a distinctive finish.
This is Aldi so you know the price will work for you. This particular DAB radio is available for £29.99 online right now or instore if you want to have a look at it close up before you buy. Get in quick as these will definitely sell out at this price.
