Now, this is rather jolly. The 1970s Majsol bedding and fabric returns to Ikea to brighten up your bedroom.

To be fair, any room, as there is fabric available to use in any space you see fit. You are only really limited by your own creativity and crafting skills.

But for those of us who can’t do much with a sewing machine (which certainly includes myself), you can opt for the ready-made designs. That’s the duvet cover and pillowcases, which are available in those oh-so-70s colour options of orange or yellow. Saying that this is all about spring flowers, so black and purple wouldn’t really work.

There are two different sizes to choose from, so measure your bed, pick your colour, and away you go. As this is Ikea, it’s not a huge outlay either. You can get this for either £20 or £25, depending on the bed size you intend to cover.

Or get the fabric. This wonderful 1971 floral print by textile designer Gota Tragardh is also available in pieces of pre-cut fabric, again in a choice of yellow or orange. The possibilities for this are endless, from a set of curtains to a rather jazzy shirt and everything in between.

Again, you aren’t looking at a big price for this option. Each section is 150x300cm, and the cost is £18.

Of course, there are plenty of other retro designs recently released at Ikea via its Nytillverkad collection.
