Something you rarely see ‘new’ on the shelves. So the Eleanor 1960s slingback shoes by Modshoes should prove quite popular.

In fact, I would say 1960s footwear for women is something of a neglected area compared to overall 1960s-style fashion. Plenty of dresses, tops and outerwear, but shoes? Not so much.

And if there are shoes, they are rarely ‘flat’ shoes. But here we are, with a fairly flat slingback in an unmistakably 1960s style, perfect for pairing with the plethora of reissued 1960s dresses out there. If you like the dress in the bottom photo, that’s the recently released Lucy dress by 66 Clothing.

There are two colour options to choose from: the more ‘out there’ orange with brown detailing or the more subtle black with a white top. As for the style, it’s based on an original vintage shoe, with that ‘slingback’ finish and a half-inch heel. That’s pretty much it, really.

Both colours are limited editions, so once they’re gone, they really are gone. So, with that in mind, it might be as well to get in before your choice of shade is consigned to history.
