Enzo Mari La Mela Modern Poster

Enzo_mari_lamela

Pictured here is “La Mela” (or “The Apple” if you really need a translation!) by Enzo Mari. Like the “In Attesa” Wastebasket we featured last week, this was also designed for Danese Milano.

Originally created back in 1963, “La Mela” belongs to the Nature series which also includes “La Per” (The Pear), “La Pantera” (The Panther) and L’oca (The Goose) which are all in a similar graphic style.

La Mela measures just over 44 inches squared and costs $250 (around £130) from Nova68.

Angelique Houtkamp tattoo-inspired prints

Houtkamp

Last year, we featured The Art Of Angelique Houtkamp book by Outre Press. And if the tattoo-inspired art in it appealed, you’ll be pleased to know that Angelique Houtkamp prints can now be bought in the UK.

Houtkamp’s art is certainly doing big business right now, so could prove to be quite an investment. The 1930s-style Saphirra lithographic print pictured above is sized at 40 x 30cm, limited to just 250 and signed by the artist.

If you want one, you can pick it up for £55. Or check out the other images on the same website.

Design Museum’s Saul Bass limited edition exhibition poster

Saulbass

Back in 2004, London’s Design Museum held an exhibition of the work of Saul Bass, producing a superbly stylish poster to go along with it. If you missed it, here’s some good news – a limited edition re-print is now available.

Saul Bass was the master of film title design thanks to his collaborations with Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick and Martin Scorsese. This poster was inspired by Bass’ titles for Otto Preminger’s Anatomy of a Murder and is sized at 1000 x 700mm and printed on parilux matt white 150 gsm paper.

Just £15 buys you one – but don’t hang about, once the new stock has sold through, no more will be printed.

1950s & 1960s Vintage Educational Posters

Posteredufunfair

Rennies Seaside Modern has a good stock of original educational posters from the 1950s and 1960s.

The term “educational” probably doesn’t sound the most inspiring, but these posters are lovely reminders of days gone by. They seem particularly appropriate to feature now as many of them depict summery scenes, such as the seaside and fairground.

Prices range from £50 for unframed posters up to £200 for some framed.  To see the current selection, visit the Rennies website.
