Duffy London Shadow Chair

Aa6129744526289d63b95655523476af

The Shadow Chair is actually a brand new product, just launched in April 2009, but its choice of materials mean it will fit well with a retro style home. It is available in a choice of sleek white or walnut.

The chair’s unique feature is that it looks to be defying gravity, balanced on top legs, but actually what at first appears to be a shadow is part of the chair. Pretty clever!

It costs £795 and can be bought from the Duffy London website.

Slapshot Storage Unit

Slapshotchest

Designed by Jonas Lindvall for De Nord, the Slapshot Storage Unit is a minimalist piece of furniture but with more than a hint of retro styling.

It has rounded edges which always gives a mid-century look to newer designs and the drawer handles are finished with wood accents, in a choice of zebrano, walnut or oak, the first two in particular adding to the retro vibe. It is also available entirely in white for a truly space-age look.

Pictured here is the two-door medium storage unit which costs £598. There is also a low three-door media unit for the same price and a two-drawer bedside unit for £325. The range is available to buy online from Funktion Alley.
