Readers in the USA (of whom I’m sure we have many) should check out the Etsy store by the name of Fabulousmess, whose treasure trove of vintage items include these 1950s Sculptural Metal Chairs.

Made from black metal with a fan back and curved arms, the chairs still have their original aqua blue vinyl upholstery. They cost $350 for a pair and the seller has two pairs available. Shipping is via Greyhound, hence once available in the USA and costs an additional $125.

Rume specialises in English designed furniture, hoping to elevate the nation’s status in world design. The resident designer at Rume is Jet Baker, who was responsible for designing the Remus Day Bed, a piece of furniture that oozes with old-fashioned style.

Pictured here in a red fabric, the design can be upholstered in your choice of material (although I think this would take some beating) and the wooden legs (beech as standard) can be made in any timber.

Prices start from £1,150, but you need to add on the cost of the six metres of fabric needed to upholster the chaise. Details on ordering can be found on the Rume website.

Thornback & Peel use Victorian style illustrations on many of their products and soon some of these designs will be available as bespoke wallpaper.

The two designs that can be turned into distinctive wall coverings are the Jelly & Cake pattern pictured above and a design featuring grey pigeons. The wallpaper is made to order and costs £65 per roll.
