Poul Christiansen designed several lights for Le Klint in the 1970s and we’ve featured some of those before. Around the same time, Christian Ræder also created a pendant light for Le Klint, The Joker, which has recently been reissued.
Designed in 1970, The Joker won first prize at the Scandinavian Lighting fair. It is available in all white or in black on white, the latter of which shows its Batman influence most.

Missoni’s designs often have a retro feel to them, whether it is in their choice of colour or the patterns. The Parma Bath Mats are no exception, combining a bold flower design with a rich palette of colours that hark back to the 60s and 70s.
Made from high quality cotton, the mat measures 80cm in diameter and is available in six colourways. One of these mats would add a dramatic retro element to a modern white bathroom.

If you liked the Marc Newson Orgone Chair we featured last week, but were less keen on the price tag, then Retro Republic has the Felt Chair which has been inspired by Newson.
Obviously there is a debate about the rights and wrongs of such unashamed copying, but putting aside such qualms then the Felt Chair is a very affordable alternative. It is currently on special offer for just £50 per chair. At that price, they could even be put to use outdoors.

To coincide with Le Corbusier exhibtion at the Barbican, the venue’s shop has a small selection of Le Corbusier related products including this biography “Le Corbusier: A Life” by Nicholas Fox Weber.
This is the first biography of the architect and designer and it uses his letters and archives, to which no other author has previously had access. Coming in at over 800 pages, it contains plenty of illustrations of his work as well as presenting his complex personality.

The Zanotta Club Armchair is another recent design that owes a lot to retro styles.
The chair is has a visible internal structure, painted brown and reminds me of basket furniture popular in the Seventies. It has been designed for use indoors or outdoors, although given the price, it isn’t something I’d been leaving outside at the mercy of the elements. I’d want it in full use in my lounge.
Available to buy from Nest, the armchair costs £1,813. If you really like the design and have nearly £3,500 to spare, there is also a sofa version.
Although digital photography now reigns supreme, most people still have some proper printed photographs lying around at home. Give them a proper home in this LP Photo Album.
