Fender Joe Strummer Signature Telecaster

Fender_strummer

One for the die-hard Clash fan – the Fender Joe Strummer Signature Telecaster.

Yes, not just any Fender Telecaster, this a beat-up Telecaster, based on the one Strummer strummed throughout his musical career. It’s crafted from alder with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, but for authenticity has a ‘road worn’ finish, with both the wood and metal bits and pieces undergoing an ‘artificial distressing’ process. A finishing touch is an engraved neck plate that says ‘Revolution Rock’.

According to Fender, the look of the guitar is based on Strummer’s attitude to the guitar – ‘how it sounds’ rather than ‘how it looks’. Ironic, bearing inm ind how much effort they’ve put into the look of this limited edition! Yours for £699.

Shag’s super-sized limited edition Glorious Lifestyle print

Gloriouslifestylebig

Ever seen The Party? It’s a film I personally love and if you’ve ever read the interview we did with Shag for Modculture (a good few years back), you’ll know he does too. And it’s the inspiration for the Shag Glorious Lifestyle print.

It’s a biggie – an epic 48 inches wide to pack in all the characters and that super-cool 60s domestic landscape. Shame there’s no sign of Peter Sellers though.

It’s limited to 150 and for the main part, limited to the Australian market. If that includes you, you can buy one here. However, there are very limited numbers of this 20-colour serigraph now available at the Shagmart shop – for US customers only and for a hefty $450 (around £225). But what us Brits?

Rocky – old cinema seat turned rocking chair

Rocky

A quirky design and eco-friendly too – the Rocky rocking chair.

The work of Derbyshire-based designer Guy Arzi, it uses old seating from flea pit cinemas (mainly dating back to the 50s), the wood and metal restored to its original state. But that’s not all – new, brightly coloured fabrics are used for the upholstery, while locally-sourced wood is added for the rocker base.

All of which combines to produce something both old and new, but certainly distinctive and unique. Not cheap though, each one retails for £1,499.99.

Star Wars Japanese Tenugui banners

Tenugui

Something uniquely Japanese, but with a distinctly retro twist – the Star Wars Tenugui banners.

Think of them as either banners or wall art, made of cotton and created individually by the traditional Japanese Nasen dying process. The themes have a Japanese twist too, with each one placing Star Wars characters in the context of that country –  R2-D2 flying near Mount Fuji and droids hanging out under the Sakura tree for example.

Each Tenugui is sized at 13.4 x 35.4 inches and sells for $19.99 (around £10).

Vintage-style Tattoo Bandage Set

Tattoo_bandage

What better way cut there be to hide that cut arm that with a vintage-style Tattoo Bandage Set?

For UK readers, bandage = plaster, but no matter what you call them, the function is much the same – to hide and heal the wound, with the added bonus of looking like a sailor or 50s rocker.

12 tattoos in the pack, along with a ‘free toy’ (whatever that might be). And the whole set can be yours for just $8 (around £4). Note that British buyers can also pick these up from Notorious Kitsch.
