Burton introduces £70 wool pea coat

Burton_peacoat
I’m not a regular shopper at the local Burton store, but if you happen to be after something classic like a pea coat as the temperatures drop, you might want to check out this wool pea coat from the store.

It’s very much the classic pea coat in black – double-breasted, two lower pockets, two handwarmer pockets and made of 50 per cent wool mixed with 50 per cent viscose. It is also machine washable.

All that for a reasonable £70 outlay.

Space Invaders flashing LED door mat

Invaders_doormat_animated

Door mats as technology? Yes, that’s the case with this Space Invaders flashing LED door mat.

It works on three levels – firstly, it keep the dirt off your lovely new carpets, secondly, it impresses your gadget-loving friends and thirdly, those glowing/flashing invaders might deter any unwanted visitors from crossing your threshold. But probably not.

The flashing image works on a motion sensor, so you’ll not be annoyed by it all day and it is powered by 4x AAA batteries. Available from ThinkGeek, you can pick one up for $69.99 (around £35).

HMV offers reissued Stylophone – exclusively in white

Hmv_stylophone

Last week we featured the newly-reissued Stylophone, which is being offered for sale by Firebox in October. But if you don’t want to wait that long, you should get yourself down to HMV, which is offering the new Stylophone now – and in white.

Just like the black version, this one has all the new features, including the volume control, the MP3 function so you can play along and the new sounds to play alongside the classic sound. But if you want one in white, you can only get in from HMV – and only while stocks last.

Powered by 3x batteries (not included), it retails in the retro packaging for £14.99.

Ikea’s Fado lighting range

Ikea_fado

It's been around for a  while, but if you're looking for some simple and stylish retro-styled lighting, the Ikea Fado range is certainly worth looking at.

There are two lights – the pendant lamp and the pendant downlighter. Both feature a large mouth-blown glass shade that gives off some serious light, with the pendant  also offering a long cable that can be adjusted to almost any height – big or small. In the a 70s-styled room, both really look the part.

And for very little outlay – the downlighter retails for £19.99, while the pendant light sells for £23.

Update: The lights above are no longer available. However, you can still buy the Fado table lamp – or check out the wider Ikea lighting range here.

Marc Jacobs for Pan Am retro travel bag

Marc_panam

An old bag made more fashionable? Or a classic bag ruined? Well, I’m guessing opinion is split on this Marc Jacobs for Pan Am retro travel bag.

On the one side, it looks like a classic Pan Am weekend-style bag, with that typical white on blue colour scheme, as well as a double zip and hand strap. But that Marc Jacobs signature? That’s going to have you reaching for your wallet or running a mile!

Only available in limited quantities, you can pick it up for $149 (around £75).
