Adidas 1970s Greenstar trainers reissued

Greenstar2

A classic no-nonsense trainer has been reissued, with the Adidas Greenstar looking every bit as relevant today as it did all those years ago.

The Greenstar was first seen back in 1970 and this terrace classic is described as a  'one-to-one replication' of the original as part of the company's '60 years of Soles and Stripes' range, available in three colours, each with soft suede uppers, contrast detailing and the Greenstar name on the heel.

Yours for £55.

Dupenny Burlesque hand-printed wallpaper

Burlesque

Looking for something slightly risque for a feature wall? This Dupenny Burlesque hand-printed wallpaper could fit the bill.

Featuring a host of vintage-style dancing girls, it's a design over two 'panels', so you need to order both for the full effect. Not only is it eye-catching, the wallpaper is also eco-friendly, hand screen-printed using water based inks onto high grade paper made from cellulose fibres from sustainably sourced trees. If that's not enough, all offcuts are sent for recycling.

Each panel is sized at 3m x 52cm, selling for £90.

Heals goes mid-century with the Hepburn sofa

Hepburn

Some great 1950s style from the high street, courtesy of Heals, with the Hepburn sofa.

Reminiscent of the classic Florence Knoll sofa, the Hepburn offers the same clean lines and spacious seating, not to mention solid construction. That includes a reinforced hardwood frame, foam and fibre cushions for soft support and upholstery in semi-aniline leather, finished off with wenge stained feet and some brushed steel detailing.

If you don't fancy the sofa, there's also an armchair in the Heals-only range, with prices starting from £1,695.

Vitra 1950s C1 armchair and stool by Verner Panton

C1

It's a design that screams the 1960s, but the Vitra C1 armchair and stool actually dates back to 1959.

Designed by Verner Panton, the C1 is a swivel chair on a brushed stainless steel base, with slight tilt and generous polyurethane foam upholstery for comfort. Even more comfortable if you stretch out and dump your feet on the matching stool.

Often copied but as ever, the original is always the best, even if that means paying a premium. In this case it's £1,043 for just about any colour you desire.

Blumenau model train set in a briefcase at Paul Smith

Train

What do you get the man who has everything? Well, if he likes toys, you get the Blumenau model train set in a briefcase.

This German-made model is almost a work of art, a lockable aluminium briefcase that opens up to expose a summer landscape, including hills, trees and a nice lake in the background. Not just a pretty face either, with the train and two carriages controlled by an integrated 9 volt battery holder and throttle controller, so you can 'play trains' no matter where you are.

Every executive should have one – and at £1,000 each, you'll need an executive salary to afford one.

Velorbis retro-style city bicycles from Cycle Chic

Cyclechic2

Cycle Chic has certainly grown rapidly since we first featured it last year. Indeed, the company has now added bikes to its range as well as cycling accessories, including these rather stylish Velorbis retro-style city bicycles.

Styles vary between ladies, gents and a couple of shopping models, but the two pictured here (see over the page for second image) cover both ends of the spectrum. The Velorbis Churchill Classic is a classic men's city bike, handmade with three old-style Sturmey Archer shifter gears, Sturmey Archer brakes, a Brooks leather seat, anti-slip pedals, galvanised steel stand, Bush & Muller lights and a black, powdered-coated finish.

The Danneborg has much the same for features, but this time has a fire engine red finish, a female-friendly shape and room for a basket on the front. Check out the site to see all the bikes, all selling for £899.
