A.R.C. v Adidas Stan Smith trainers

Arc_stan

New York retailer A.R.C. has teamed up with Adidas to re-work an 80s version of the classic Stan Smith, the end results being these A.R.C. v Adidas Stan Smith trainers.

You'll have to look hard for Adidas logos, but they're there on the sole, heel and perforated stripes on the side. Aside from that, this is very much a 'back to basics' reworking, with a an off-white canvas upper, plus soft detailing for the tongue and heel, along with the A.R.C. logos. Two additional pairs of laces are also thrown in.

Just on the market, you pick up a pair for £95.

Dreams VolksWagen Type 2 Radio

Dreams

Perfect for lovers of all things VW Camper Van, the Dreams VolksWagen Type 2 Radio also offers a clock and an audio system.

As the name suggests, it's first and foremost a radio in the shape of a Camper Van with both AM and FM reception. But that's not all you get – it's also a digital clock (there's a screen on the rear) and a speaker for your iPod or MP3 player.

Take your pick from two colours, both retailing for $129.99. Note that this is a Japanese gadget sold in the US – so if you're ordering, you might want to enquire about the electrics first.

1960s Helkama Jopo bicycle is back in blue

Jopo_blue

We did feature this around 12 months back, but as it's one of favourite bikes and it's back for 2009 in a new colourway, we feel justified in mentioning once more the Helkama Jopo bicycle.

It was first introduced in its native Finland back in 1965 as a 'bike for all', returning in the modern era with a sympathetic update, but still packing the key classic features – low front frame, 24-inch wheels, single gear, luggage carrier and kickstand, plus the ability to adjust the seat and the handlebar to fit most sizes. And for the mean streets of 2009, it now has an integrated lock.

379 Euros will secure you a new Jopo in black and blue – and make you the envy of your friends.

Alberto

An 80s lamp with modernist inspiration – the Alberto Meda Berenice table lamp for Luceplan.

It's not just a looker, it's also a clever design dating back to 1985, with a transformer that allows low tension current to reach the bulb without electrical wiring. That means you can keep everything super-slim. And it's also easy to move, just a touch of the head ring can move it in any direction, so you can get up close as and when you need too – without the worry of it falling over.

Choose from an assortment of colours for the glass shade and either black or plain aluminium for the stem – all selling for £215.
