Hanna Melin apparently collects things. Not only that, she draws the things she collects – and that includes old cassettes, featured here on the Hanna Melin Play A Song For Me tote bag.
This 100 per cent organic cotton tote bag features blue pencil drawings of old mix tapes, all of which have some kind of sentimental value to the artist – even of they don’t get played anymore.
If you’re looking for something to replace the plastic bag, it retails for £9.95.
Going away for the weekend? The Fred Perry retro flight bag might be the perfect size for your two-day luggage.
This brown holdall has the Fred Perry logo on one side of the bag, as well as featuring silver Laurel Reef zips, a detachable shoulder strap and multi compartments.
Ella Since Osix make some truly fantastic bags. I stumbled upon the shop on Etsy while searching for a shoulder bag for myself, and couldn’t resist the gorgeous, authentic ’70s prints.
The bags achieve this authenticity so well because they’re made from original vintage fabrics, which means they not only look great but they’re are one of a kind too.
Each handmade bag is excellently crafted, and retails from $32.50 for an army saddlebag.
Another week, another piece of Keep Calm and Carry On-related merchandise – this time the Keep Calm and Carry On tote bag.
We have covered the original poster on numerous occasions, so suffice to say it was a re-assuring World War II poster from 1939, subsequently popular as a calming message in a busy world. The bag featuring the design is made from 600gsm cotton canvas and measures 50 x 35 x 17cm, with an 18 litre capacity and a small internal pocket.
On the day that it was announced that Fidel Castro is stepping down as leader of Cuba after 49 years, it seems like a good time to feature Corinna Radcliffe’s Cuba products.
Corinna’s work combines photography with a range of products, including cushions, bags, clocks, purses and canvases. Her photography covers a wide range of topics, often with a retro influence, such as “Best of British”, “1950s”, “Brighton”, and of special interest to us today, “Cuba”.
It is not clear when the Cuba photographs were taken, but they feature vintage cars, old-fashioned cafes and street scenes. It may be that these were taken in the 1960s, but it could also be a testament to how Cuba has remained largely unchanged under Castro. Any of the designs can be printed onto any of the products. Canvases are available in a variety of sizes, with prices starting at £32.99 for A4. Purses and clocks cost £24.99, cushions and lampshades £32.99 and bags £58.99.
