Classic Faber and Faber covers at Art Meets Print

Faber good dishes

A while ago we wrote about Faber Firsts, new covers of classic Faber and Faber novels, done in styles that echoed the company's 80 years of publishing. Now you can go back to some of their original book jacket designs with these prints available at Art Meets Print

They've pulled out some gems from the Faber and Faber archive to reproduce, including this jacket design for 'Good Dishes from Tinned Foods' by Ambrose Heath, just one from the extensive food and drink section. There's also a selection of poetry covers available, featuring the original Pentagram designs.

Prices depending on the size of your print and whether you choose to have it on canvas or paper. They start at £34.95 for a 30 x 20cm print on canvas of one of the designs and go up to £299 for a 90 x 137.5cm canvas.

Luna bistro outdoor dining set at Sparrow and Finch

Luna bistro

The good weather isn't meant to last this time but get ready for the next spot of sunshine with the Luna bistro outdoor dining set from Sparrow and Finch

It's a contemporary design with more than a passing nod to the 1950s. The Fifties influence extends to more than the name alone, with the curved base to the table and the unusual shape of the chairs giving it a distinctive look. In fact the style is one that you might be tempted to bring into your house, as well as putting in the garden.

The set costs £299.95.

Tesco does a budget Pumpkin-style chair

Sphere

We love the Pumpkin chair. An early 70s design classic from Pierre Paulin and originally produced for Georges Pompidou's private apartment in the Élysée Palace, this space age gem went into mass production for the very first time in 2008, appearing most recently as an annviversary edition. But with prices starting at a very minimum £900 (and usually much more), it's not cheap. So here's an alternative – the Tesco Sphere chair.

Ok, it doesn't have the finesse of the Paulin original, it just wouldn't. But it does offer up a similar profile, with a circular shape, slightly raised back and a choice of fabric or leather construction. The fabric is in red, the leather in black.

If you are trying to re-create that 70s space age look, the Sphere chair offers the shape and the style without the big price tag. How cheap? Well, the fabric chair is yours online for £144.99, the leather discounted for £129.99. Even better, Tesco has discount code on its site right now that knocks another £10 off both prices.

Artek 400 Tank Chair by Alvar Aalto gets Missoni makeover

Artek_missoni

A modernist classic of the 1930s is given a slightly more modern twist with the Artek 400 Tank Chair covered in a Missoni fabric.

The 400 (or Tank) chair was designed by Alvar Aalto back in 1936 for the Milan Triennale, those curves still eye-catching and distinctive in the modern era. But this version is even more prominment, covered in the Missoni Kew fabric as part of Artek's Dress The Chair campaign, where famous fabric houses are invited to give classic furnishings a new twist.

The chair itself is made of birch, with the seating using No-Sag springs, PU-foam and Dacron. it sells for 4,875 Euros.
