Kit wallpaper featuring retro food packaging from Studio Nommo

Nommo wallpaper

If you believe you are what you eat, how about extending this motto to the rest of your home? Should you want to, the Kit wallpaper from Studio Nommo allows you to cover your walls with retro-style illustrations of packaging and create a Pop Art food fantasy look that surely even Warhol would be proud of.

The paper is based on a design by Andreas Samuelsson and features everything from boxes of Ritz crackers to Nintendo NES controllers. The design is fun and unusual but, even in this otherwise minimal marketing room shot, looks pretty full on!

If you're brave enough to want to try this look out, the paper costs 130 Euros a roll.

Rondo retro-styled armchair at John Lewis

Rondo1

We've said a few times of late that John Lewis has some nice retro and classic items in its furniture range this year, including the Rondo armchair and snuggler.

It's a modern design, but with a retro twist, we're thinking late 50s, early 60s with those curces and high arms. In terms of specifics, the frame is a mix of hardwood, softwood and manmade boards with upholstery in the slate colour pictured above and feet in a light-coloured wood.

£399 is the price of the armchair or if love is in the air, there's also a snuggler version for squeezing two people in. That's pictured over the page and sells for £499.

Cluster together and it's certain to be a talking point for your home. Check it out online at Heals, price is £350.

Angie Lewin tea towels from St Judes

Lewin towels

St Jude's produce some lovely fabrics with a great retro look, including the Angie Lewin Hedgerow fabric we featured at the start of the year. If you like the look, you'll be pleased they've started reproducing some of Lewis' original fabric designs as tea towels, an easily affordable way to buy into the look.

There are three designs in total, stocked at Illustrated Living, including the Clifftop and Clocks designs pictured above. They're typical of her style showing skeletal 50s-style illustrations of plant forms and are screen-printed onto 100% organic cotton.

Watch this space, as St Jude's are soon to be launching their first range of ceramic mugs. In the meantime, these tea towels cost £9.95 each.

Kelly Hoppen Hicks wallpaper for B&Q

Hoppen B&Q

Another big name working on a high street budget, Kelly Hoppen has teamed up with B&Q for a new wallpaper range. The designs are quite varied in their style but one that leaps out is the Hicks wallpaper

The name seems to be no coincidence as the geometric shapes of the design are obviously strongly influenced by some of David Hicks' looks in the 1960s and 70s, such as his hexagonal wallpaper. Hoppen has given a contemporary feel to her design by playing with different textures of paper with both of the two colourways available for this design, as shown in the image above, using a silver effect.

The paper costs £19.98 a roll (compared to a reissue of an original Hicks design which will cost you around £50 a roll).
