SEBO Felix Fun retro vacuum cleaner

Sebo_felix_2
Has there even been a retro vacuum cleaner? Well, there is now and it’s called the SEBO Felix Fun retro vacuum cleaner.

It’s very much the traditional cleaner, upright, but with a base that’s flat to the floor. And it’s got a telescopic handle to keep everything compact when you’ve finished sweeping up. It also comes apart to give you a mini-vacuum for cleaning stairs or upholstery.

But the big selling point is surely the design – in a superbly retro orange and purple colour scheme and pattern, adding a 70s slant to a very modern vac.

The Felix Fun costs around £230 and is available from many high street electrical retailers.

Retro-styled kitchen aprons

Retro_apron
Can the kitchen apron be cool? It can if it’s one of these cool retro-styled aprons from Anthropologie.

There’s a wide range of styles available on the site, most in retro styles or made from retro-styled cloth. Typical is this 50s-style Raindrops apron. At first glance you probably think it’s a dress – on the contrary, it’s to protect your clothes, but without compromising your style.

Fitted, with a button collar and made of 100 per cent cotton, you can pick this particular style up for $38 (around £19). But if it’s not to your taste, check out the full range at the Anthropologie website.

Paul Smith Tea Cosie

Ps_teacosie
Paul Smith has a pile of items for sale for Mother’s Day, most of them pretty forgettable except for this great throwback item – the Paul Smith Tea Cosie.

Yes, the tea revival starts here (or there). As long as you have a pot (and everyone should), you can stick on the Tea Cosie and keep your brews warmer for a little bit longer.

Designed to look like a bunch of cherries, it’s got a 36cm circumference and is 17cm in height. It’s made of 100% wool of course. Yours for £40.

Pop art dustpan

Decorative_dustpan
Just because it’s an everyday item doesn’t mean it can’t look good – and as a case in point, check out this pop art dustpan.

It’s one of a series of designs for the humble dustpan at the Decorative Things website, but this Faces Multi design, along with the monochrome Faces Black & White version, is definitely the best.

Sadly there’s no matching brush to go with it. Available online, you can pick it up for $22 (around £11).
