LG retro Steam Direct Drive washing machines

Lg_washingmachines

For years, washing machines have been classed as "white goods" because they were always plain and white. That’s changed over the years with colourful and retro machines from the likes of Smeg – and now LG has updated its range with the Steam Direct Drive washing machines.

There’s a definite retro feel to the look of these limited edition machines, which were produced in conjunction with the Designer’s Guild. The machines also feature a Dual Spray system, which sprays hot steam and water to improve washing performance and they’re eco-friendly – using 35% less water and 21% less energy than traditional washers.

The limited edition LG Steam Direct Drive washing machines are available at Harrods and John Lewis, check with your local store for the current price.

Retro-styled whistling stovetop kettle

Stove_kettle
For most people, a kettle is just a household item of convenience – with only Dualit making any concession to design. But if you’ve got some time on your hands and want something with a cool retro look, you should check out this whistling stovetop kettle from The Linen Works.

You do need a bit of extra time because it does take long for a stovetop kettle to boil than a main-powered model. But at least you can look at the cool blue and white enamel design while you’re waiting and you get to enjoy the whistle when it’s coming to the boil.

It can be used on any cooker surface and retails for £31.50.

Sukie Chamonix Cushion

Chamonix
We like a nice comfy cushion here at Retro To Go, and all the better if it looks good too. This Chamonix Cushion from Sukie is just the thing to decorate your sofa while keeping a winter theme.

The retro design of the ski resort and mountains is a must for anyone who likes skiing, or who likes something a little bit different for their home.

The design is screen printed onto 100% cotton canvas, with a duck feather filled cushion, and is 50cm x 50cm.

If you don’t like the Chamonix one there are eight other designs including a retro Gas Station and Grocery store. Each one costs £39.95.

Sainsburys’ retro circular candle

Circular_candle
Just spotted over on the Sainsburys website (which has recently undergone something of a facelift) is this rather interesting Abstract Circles Pillar candle.

Cadles aren’t something we get excited about, but the pattern on this one looks not unlike vinyl records in several shades and sizes. And as it’s both winter and Christmas, you’ve got every excuse to light a few around the house.

It also retails for just £2.49 – so you price shouldn’t be an issue either.
