Vans x Robert Crumb footwear range

Colette1

Vans has put some classic 60s illustration on two of its classic styles as part of the newly-launched Vans x Robert Crumb footwear range.

Take your pick from the classic Fritz the Cat that sits on an (not quite as) classic Vans Slip On or opt for Mr Natural, who first appeared in print back in 1967, but who appears on a pair of Vans Sk8 High for the first time in 2009. Both pairs also feature joint Vans and R. Crumb branding.

Check out the Mr Natural footwear over the page and if you want a pair, check out Colette online, prices from around £64 for what's certainly a limited edition.

Moonpie & Shoeshine Badges

Psychedelic_Mushroom1

I’ve never really been too keen on badges as accessories, but I’d make an exception for the designs by Moonpie & Shoeshine.

Sold in sets of three, they currently have six different themes set to choose from. Pictured above is the Psychedelic Mushroom set. The Pop Art set is similar but with a badge saying Pop in the place of the mushroom one.. On similarly groovy 60s note, is the Flower Girl set, which features psychedelic images in red and orange. Folk art is also acknowledged with a set featuring a chicken, squirrel and tree in yellow and pink. The DollyBird and Up with Mini Skirts sets are just as good, but stick to a palette of black, white and red.

The badges cost £3.50 per set and can be bought from the Moonpie and Shoeshine shop on the Folksy website.

Adidas x Redman Superstar II trainers

Redman1

One 80s icon teams up with another for the Adidas x Redman Superstar II trainers.

The shoes have been launched to celebrate 25 years of the Def Jam label, with Def Jam icon Redman Reginald 'Reggie' Noble given the job of making over the 80s version of the Superstar trainer.

What you get is a bold red suede and leather upper, the classic shell toe, a splattered paint effect on the sole and Redman imagery on the tongue. Certain to be limited, it's yours for £64.99. Another image over the page.

Dashing Tweeds Scooter Coat

Dashing

Tweed is no longer the domain of an old man's wardrobe, it's been re-invented for the modern era by Dashing Tweeds, producing garments as stylish as the Dashing Tweeds Scooter Coat.

Dashing Tweeds promises a range of tweeds for the 21st century, designed by photographer Guy Hills and weaver Kirsty McDougall. If you haven't got the time to get your own items made up, they offer up ready to wear garments too, including the previously-mentioned Scooter Coat.

Designed by Russell Howarth and based on the Household Cavalry greatcoat, the Scooter Coat is both stylish and warm, as well as reflective and water repellent at night – the best of both worlds you might say. Not cheap at £850, but certain to get you noticed. Check out all the range at the website

Retro Film Camera T-Shirt

Cameratshirt

The website Zazzle allows designers to upload their creations which can then be printed onto t-shirts, mugs, bags and other items. Amongst the thousands of t-shirt designs, I spotted this Retro Film Camera T-shirt.

The tee features an image of a vintage camera on the front, but where Zazzle comes into its own is that you can then choose the type of t-shirt you want. So you can pick from eleven colours of American Apparel t-shirt for men from £21.75 or go for a cheaper t-shirt with options starting at £12.35. Ladies can have the design printed onto fitted Baby Doll tops from £16.85.

Visit Zazzle to view all of the options.

Patrick Heritage range 1970s Marathon trainers

Patrick_marathon

Big thanks to Doug for pointing out that old school sportswear label Patrick is re-introducing some classics from its past, which includes these Patrick Marathon trainers.

Dating back to 1978 and reissued in period colours, these long distance running shoes come with a patented all-terrain Patrick sole, a Terrycloth lining for absorption, a lightweight upper, suede reinforcement and shock absorbing wedge. Just as tasty for a walk down the pub too.

Available directly from Patrick, priced around 80 Euros.
