Think the hoody is a creation of the modern age? Think again – it’s been staple wear on the university campus in the US for a good 50 years or so – and this Levi’s authentic 1960s hoody is typical of a vintage top.

Slightly different than the modern hoody, this one is more of a sports top, with a larger hood, central pocket and a university patch on the arm.

There seems to be a distinct shift towards all things 1950s of late. And it’s something that hasn’t passed the big labels by. Levi’s is the latest to plunder its archive with the re-introduction of these 1955 501XX jeans.

The 1950s fit means they’re less fitted around the seat and slightly looser around the leg, with the shrink-to-fit jeans also featuring a zinc button-fly and copper rivets, ‘Levi’s’ stitched on both sides of Capital E Red tab and a dark indigo finish.

The Adidas Samba is arguably the most famous Adidas trainer, first introduced in 1950 for playing football on icy ground, but since re-incarnated in various finishes for the fashion market. The latest of which is this Adidas Consortium Samba in cord and suede.

Reissued as part of the Consortium range (like the earlier-featured Forest Hills), the shoe mixes tan and black, as well as corduroy and suede, to create a new twist on a classic.

Reissued as part of the Fila Vintage range is this rather smart Fila Argento knitted polo shirt.

This casual 70s-style top is light cream with green and navy contrast stripes, made from 100 per cent soft woven cotton and features the limited edition Fila ‘gold label’ and four-button collar.
