Waterloo’s retro bag range – named after The Who

Waterloo_bag

T-shirt specialists Waterloo has introduced a retro bag range, with each bag named after a member of The Who.

Above is ‘Keith’ and ‘John’ with larger satchel-style bags called ‘Pete’ and ‘Roger’ also in the range. All are available in a variety of colours and made of leather, with the Keith able to fit in a 13-inch MacBook (or your everyday bits and pieces) in the main pocket, while the Pete and Roger have the option to carry a 15-inch laptop.

Prices are good too – ranging from $39.95 (around £20), rising to $53.45 (around £27). The company ships worldwide.

Sir Peter Blake limited edition Pop t-shirt

Blake_shirt

Regular readers will know we are big fans of the work of Sir Peter Blake, so no surprise to see this Sir Peter Blake Pop limited edition t-shirt featured.

It’s also great value and a superb design – typical Blake with the bold target and star motifs amongst other imagery, combining to form the word ‘Pop’ on a grey t-shirt background.

Sold with a certificate and in a gift box in just about every size imaginable, it retails for £29.

Pointer Seeker pumps

Pointer_seeker

More stripped-down casual footwear to tempt you with – the Pointer Seeker pumps.

I say pumps, but these are probably a halfway house between pumps and trainers – all white with a canvas upper, white mod sole and gum sole unit.

If that’s a little too simple, there’s also a variation in black leather and another with a beige suede trim. Whatever pair you go for, they don’t cost the earth – with prices starting at £35, rising to a maximum of £49 for the leather.

Admiral’s retro trainer range – but only in Japan

Admiral_sheffield

Browsing the Japan-based Ripe website, I noticed a section of footwear from Admiral – and discovered a whole range of retro-styled trainers and pumps.

I’ve not seen these outside of Japan (and I have searched around the web), so I’m guessing this sportswear giant of the 70s (who can forget those England and Wales kits) is making footwear just for the far east.

Above is a picture of the Sheffield trainers (most have English names) and over the page is the latest range of pumps, known as the Oxford. Prices are around £45 for the Sheffield and £34 for the Oxford. If you know more (or represent Admiral), drop us a line or comment below. You can see the full range via the Ripe link.

V&A’s Switch off that light! t-shirt

Switch
The V&A continues to re-produce some of its more obscure vintage artwork as limited edition clothing, the latest being this Switch off that light! t-shirt.

Originally from an early to mid 20th century public information poster, it’s a message that still carries some weight in these eco-friendly days (not to mention with energy bills sky high).

A run of just 150, each printed onto a slim-fitting 100 per cent cotton shirt in a choice of size, you can pick one up for £25.
