A semi-classic running shoe from the '70s gets another outing in 2010 – the Diadora Cross 70 trainers.
You can actually pin these trainers down to 1976, with the reissue still packing a suede and mesh upper, with a leather Diadora stripe on the side and rubber sole.
I know we've just mentioned a pair of trainers, but we then realised that we didn't mention the limited edition Size? x Adidas Birmingham City Series trainers and tracktop, which go on sale tomorrow, 18th December 2010, if you fancy an early start on a cold morning.
You'll need that early start too, as this 6th (and last) limited edition City Series collaboration is limited to just 500 pairs in the stores, with that matching track jacket also available, limited to just 300 – all numbered of course.
This particular outdoor jacket is a replica of a classic coat of the past, going by the name of the Nigel Cabourn Cameraman Jacket.
The Cameraman Jacket was worn by Wilfrid Noyce on his photographic expeditions to Everest in the 1950s, with the latest version described as a 'painstaking recreation of the original', with Mackintosh uppers and Harris Tweed lower sections. Other features include nut buttons and a US military metal clasp closure, four front flap pockets and an adjustable hood with coiled cord detailing.
A limited edition that's made in England and available in four colour options. Sadly it doesn't come cheap, selling for £899.
It is generally believed to the bestselling Adidas trainer in the company's long history, shifting around 30 million pairs since its introduction in 1971 (in various incarnations). This Adidas Stan Smith 80s reissue should bump that figure up a bit more.
This is the 1980s take on a classic, complete with thinner tongues and a less chunky silhouette. But aside from that, pretty much what you expect, with a white and green colour scheme, premium leather upper, perforated three stripes and off-white sole unit.
We flagged this up a few weeks back, with December 1st mentioned for a launch date. That never happened, but at last, the Barbour 75th Anniversary International Jacket is finally available to buy online, if you are quick.
As we said back then, it's been produced to celebrate 75 years of the International jacket. Barbour are making 75 of the limited edition jackets, based on the original design, which was created for the 1936 International Six Day Trials. Worn by competitive motorcyclists through to the 1970s and of course, famously by Steve McQueen. Take your pick from a 'box-fresh' or 'distressed' finish (the latter pictured above), both of which are available now.
End Clothing has it, £375 is the price of the 'box-fresh', £425 is the cost of the 'distressed' version.
Combining our love of James Brown’s illustrations with our fondness for dapper clothing, in one item is James Brown’s “Hats” Print.
The screenprint uses just five colours, which adds to its retro look, and depicts 15 styles of hat spanning decades of fashion including a homberg, a bowler, a deerstalker and a pork pie hat. There are only 140 prints with each one signed and numbered by the artist.
