Rent an apartment in Erno Goldfinger’s iconic Trellick Tower in London

Trellick1

It's the building you either love or hate, but there's no denying that Trellick Tower is an iconic piece of 20th century design. Want to live there? Well, an apartment has just come up for rent in the Erno Goldfinger-designed west London tower block.

Goldfinger designed the block in the late 60s and despite a large amount of contempt for it, Trellick Tower is grade II listed, so isn't going anywhere in a hurry. Admittedly, we've never been in the place, but we suspect the views from this 15th-floor flat are really going to be something special.

Fritz Hansen 60s-style Space lounge chair by Jehs + Laub

Space

A modern design, but the perfect seat for any wannabe James Bond villain – the Fritz Hansen Space lounge chair by Jehs + Laub.

Vert 1960s in look, this easy chair is 'designed from the idea of the comfortable feeling of sitting in a hand' would you believe. Not sure what sitting in a hand feels like, but we can only assume it's fairly pleasant. In terms of specifics, it offers a lacquered shell, leather upholstery in a choice of three colours and a base of lacquered steel matching your colour choice.

Prices start at just over £1,800.

Camper van needlepoint kit

Camper van needlepoint

Long gone are the days when craft sets focused on reproducing only twee images of kittens or flowers. There's an increasing range of kits featuring more contemporary designs that you might actually want to have in your home when finished, such as this VW camper van needlepoint kit.

You'll probably recognise the illustration as one of Pearl & Earl's, now recreated in wool, complete with a colourful stripy background. The kit contains everything you'll need to recreate it: 10hpi (holes per inch) canvas, which is great for beginners, wool, needles and chart and, probably most importantly, instructions.

The kit uses high quality materials which is reflected in the price of £60.

Peace Sign Earrings by Roberto Cavalli

Peaceearrings

Peace signs are another item of sixties and seventies iconography that has become something of a cliché over the years, being used as a catch-all symbol for hippy culture. When handled with some subtlety, though, there's still a certain retro appeal, as shown in these Roberto Cavalli earrings.

There might be something slightly off-message about paying designer pricetags for such a symbol, but a sly wink to sixties counterculture might just be up your street. This pair are made from gold-tone brass and studded with Swarovski crystals throughout.

They'll set you back £387.50 from Net-a-Porter online in the UK.
