Emily Bond Dachshund Print Cushion

Dogcushion

While Orla Kiely has the stem print, Emma Bridgewater has dots and Cath Kidston has florals, Emily Bond’s signature print is the dachshund print.

The quirky print was the first print Emily Bond created for her quirky twist on shabby chic homeware, and was based on our own miniature wire-haired dachshund. The print has since been turned into a variety of products, including these 20cm square linen cushions which cost £45 each. There are also tea towels, draft excluders, oven mitts and dog beds featuring the doggie print in a range of colours.

Aca Apron from Mis Cositas

Retro apron

While rockabilly 50s style are definitely tough, more traditional looks from the era take their inspiration from the quintessential American housewife. No archetypal housewife's look would be complete without a chic apron, like this one from Mis Cositas.

The half size apron fits perfectly over a classic circle skirt, but is equally stylish as the clothes its made to cover in a cute cherry print. A high waist makes it as practical as it is attractive, too.

Get it from PinUp Girl Clothing for $39.

eBay watch: 1970s Philips stereo 22AF 200 portable record player

Philips1

It's go some time to go yet, but for us, this Philips stereo 22AF 200 portable record player is the bargain of the moment on eBay.

A 1970s design, but quite a sophisticated one, this mains-powered player packs away into a small carry case, looking pretty cool like that too. But open it up and you can remove the sides, which double up as two speakers, offering that stereo sound on the go. There's even dual volume controls, one for each speaker.

Sold in that orange colourway, it's currently up for just £1 (plus some postage from Germany). Yes, an absolute steal. Check out the record player opened up over the page or check out full details at the eBay site.

Portmeirion Magic Garden limited edition coffee pot

Magic garden coffee

Another company highlighting their heritage: in 2010 Portmeirion celebrates 50 years. They've been looking through their archives and produced a collection inspired by Susan Williams-Ellis' archive designs. This coffee pot is based on a similarly shaped pot they found that was covered in William-Ellis' hand-drawings. These drawings were the basis of the Magic Garden design, which began to be manufactured in 1970. The design looks as current now as it must have done back then.

While mugs with this design are readily available, this coffee pot is limited to an edition of 500. Each pot costs £65.
