Next apple storage set

Apple uncropped

Here are more goodies from Next who have come up trumps in their latest kitchen collection. Following on from the apple memo board featured earlier in the week, here's a similarly fruity storage set. The five piece set has containers for keeping all your kitchen essentials, from bread to biscuits. Each has a white finish with a repeated apple motif and a red lid to match the plain lettering. The simple design means the set could fit easily into a retro-inspired kitchen.

The set costs £32.

Bradbury & Bradbury wallpapers

Atomic doodle

Looking for a specific period look for your home? Bradbury & Bradbury's range of art wallpapers could be worth a look. They've a wide selection of historically inspired wallpapers from which the above 'Atomic Doodle' design is taken. It's obviously a fifties inspired look, one taken from the group of designs they've called 'The Atomic Age'. They also sell other twentieth-century inspired designs under the categories Art Deco, Post-War Era and 'The Mod Generation'.

The papers are hand printed and generally come in a range of colours. Atomic Doodle, for example, comes in taupe and pink as well as the turquoise shown here. This wallpaper costs $72 per roll, but prices vary depending on the design.

Wool Quilted Mini Dress by Opening Ceremony

Quilted

While a lot of the 80s reproduction fashions on the market at the moment represent the most modern fashions of the time, there are some of the less mainstream looks of the decade available too. This Wool Quilted Mini Dress by Opening Ceremony is a great example of the era's take on fifties design points, a popular designer trick.

Taking a quintessential fifties dress shape, complete with sweetheart neckline and circle skirt, it adds some definitely 80s influenced style points. The structured cups at the bust, along with the quilted fabric, add that late 20th century modernity that makes this dress a lot less ordinary.

It's available online from Browns for £505.

Question Mark Chair

Copy of 046amb4_1

The Question Mark Chair, with its unusual shape and descriptive name, could easily be mistaken for a classic design by the likes of Jacobsen, Aarnio or Paulin, but it is a new design by Stefan Heiliger.

The chair has already won a plethora of awards so could easily become a design classic of the future, but for now, I think it would make a good addition to any retro dining room. The seat swivels 360 degrees and is available in a huge choice of coloured leathers, although the smart choice would always be the white option.

The Question Mark Chair is available to buy form Mac and Mac Interiors priced £1,580.
