Amtico launches Vintage Teak range of flooring

Vintage_teak

So, you’ve got your mid-century wooden furnishings, but how about a matching floor? Well, that’s now possibly with the newly-launched Amtico Vintage Teak range of flooring.

Inspired by the look of mid-century designs and the 70s craze of wood panelling, the new flooring range offers the same look, but without any trees suffering – this is synthetic ‘wood’.

Just launched, so no price as yet, you can request more information (or a brochure) via the company’s website.

Indian Vintage Leather bag at Barton and Barton

Indian_tooled_leather

Leather might not be the most ethical of materials by many standards, but it is undeniably one of the most durable and longlasting. Thanks to its leather and excellent craftsmanship, this 1960s Indian Tooled Leather bag looks as though it was made yesterday.

While the quality speaks for itself, the styling, too, is a great selling point. While tooled leather is a technique that is still carried out, attractive pieces such as this are hard to come by. The bag is large and sturdy enough to serve as a weekend bag or even for carrying your laptop.

It’s available online from vintage sellers Barton and Barton for £68.95.

Nike Athletics West 80s-style tracktop

Nike_athletics

The big sports labels are still raiding those archives – and none more so than Nike. And this Nike Athletics West tracktop comes straight out of the 80s.

I can’t say I recall it myself, but I’ll take the maker’s word on it. Anyway, if you want a retro top in an 80s-style, this one offers an authentic look, a small logo on the front and a large ‘Athletics West’ logo on the back.

All of which will set you back £49.

Ovetto space age recycling bin

Ovetto

Recycling wasn’t a big priority in the early 70s, but if it was, it might have involved something like the Ovetto recyclng bin.

Loving those futuristic space age curves, combining to create an egg-shaped bin with separate compartments for your recycled items, like paper, plastic, glass etc. Drop your rubbish in the small coloured slot on the top, pull out the larger storage sections when you need to empty. It’s probably the hippest bin on the market, with the added bonus of being one of the greenest.

Take your pick from black, white or coloured, priced at £139.99.

Foto table lamp – shaped like photographers’ lighting

Fotolamp

We featured the floor version of the Foto lamp from Zero some time back when it hit retail in Sweden. Well, now it’s available in the UK – in table form anyway.

If it looks familiar, it’s because this Thomas Bernstrand and Mattias Ståhlbom design is based on the classic photographer’s studio lighting, made of aluminium and steel and with an adjustable head for aiming the light.

Take your pick from four colours, all selling for £350.
