Shag’s latest prints – F for French and G is for Grim Reaper

Shag_prints

Shag prints never hang around for long, so here’s a heads up on the latest arrivals a day before they go on sale to the general public.

Both are part of the A to Z series, with the new additions titled F for French and G is for Grim Reaper. The reasons for those titles being pretty self-explanatory. The two prints are 12-colour serigraphs, sized at 12 x 14 inches, limited to 250 and of course, signed by the artist.

Each one retails for $110 (around £55).

Vespismo

Petrol prices are on the up – which means more people are opting for two wheels to get around town. Which is good news for the scooter accessory companies, the latest of which is Vespismo.

Based in Holland (but shipping worldwide), the company offers mod-friendly scooter clothing and the helmets above. All are approved for safety, clad in weatherproof sky leather and made in Italy.

The three designs above are Vespismo Target, Bossy Beetle, Union Jack and Classic Crimson, but others are available and new styles added on a monthly basis. All are priced at 119.95 Euros and if you want vintage goggles to match, they have those too – for an extra 24.95 Euros.

Mondaine Sports II Chrono and Day watches

Mondaine_sports

We mentioned last week that Mondaine had updated its clock range – now the company has added more watches, specifically the Mondaine Sports II Chrono and Day watches.

Like all Mondaine products, it is based on the original 1940s Swiss railway clock, the work of (then) railways employee Hans Hilfiker. This time, the design has been adapted to two new watches, both available in black or white, with the Chrono offering a brushed steel case, coated bezel, illuminated display, full chronograph functionality and a leather strap.

By contrast, the Day is a more minimalist watch, but with the same steel case and contrasting bezel and leather strap. The Day retails for £185, the Chrono sells for £285.

Marubeni offers stylish wooden iPod docks to match your sideboards

Ipod_wooden_2

Regular readers will know of our love for all things wood – like these Marubeni wooden iPod docks.

It’s all about the looks, with a choice of American Walnut or Scandinavian Birch finish, two sizes for different iPod fits (classic and nano), plus a USB connection and integrated controls. The only downside is the rather feeble pair of 1W speakers.

Initially, this is Japan only, which is a shame – with a price that’s the equivalent of just £40, it could’ve proved a stylish addition to your living room.

Mode Merr Fancy Vamp dress at Dollydagger

Mode_merr_dollydagger

For unmistakably authentic vintage look clothing with quality and style there isn’t a whole lot of brands upon which you can rely, but one of those which stands out is Mode Merr. Their designs cover a variety of retro styles, mainly focused on the 1950s.

This great, rockabilly styled Fancy Vamp peasant dress is a stand out original as its cut and look are unlike many of the overdone retro styles available. Perfect for rockabilly girls, the figure hugging skirt is perfectly offset by the more feminine blouse at the chest. With the addition of the staple leopard print it’s a dress that’s worth airing again and again.

It’s available to buy from the Dollydagger website, along with many other retro clothing designs, for £70.
