Dating back to 1962, this Braun RT-20 radio could give your newly-bought DAB radio a run for its money in terms of looks.
Designed by Dieter Rams, it is a stunningly simple and effective design – a dark front contrasting the wooden case, with the controls adding even more contrast on the front. It plays AM, FM and MW and is said to be in almost perfect condition and full working order, despite its age.
The only downside of this classic is the price. The German seller wants a ‘Buy It Now’ of around £400. If it was nearer a quarter of that, I would be sorely tempted.
Smoking is hardly de rigeur at the moment, but sometimes it seems a bit of a shame that everyone’s no longer puffing away likes decades gone by. That’s purely down to the amazingly kitsch accessories that oft accompanied the most essential of vices.
