Attic retro-styled radio and speaker

Attic_radio
We do love our wood-finished technology – and that includes this Attic retro-styled radio and speaker.

And the title just about sums up what it does – this wood-bound speaker (which is also available in black) offers an AM/FM tuner with a clean/consistent sound, courtesy of AroundSound technology. And you can benefit from that sound if you plug in your iPod or MP3 player – as it doubles up as a speaker system.

Add to that the retro looks and vintage-style dials and you have a nice little audio unit that retails for just $98 (around £49).

Full-size vintage bumper cars for your living room

Bumper_2

Dodgems or bumper cars
, whatever you call them, they have been permanent fixtures on our fun fairs for over 50 years. And now you can have two in your living room.

David Simpson is the owner of the car above and its partner (which you can see over the page). Ignore the Lambretta badges, both of thse cars are 1955 Gebr Jhle bumper cars, made in Bruschal in Germany through the 40s and 50s before being exported extensively to the US for early amusement parks.

These cars have been lovingly restored into the quirkiest seating you'll ever find for a living room. And if they'll fit your home or flat, the owner is looking to sell -  get in touch with us if you want the seller's details. Think you have something even more quirky in your home? Let us know and we'll happily print it.

Additional note: These cars have long sold – the article originally dates from 2007.

Classic rock skateboards

Classicrock_skateboards

After we featured the mod and punk-themed skateboards, we were pointed in the direction of something similar – these classic rock skateboards.

All are officially licensed and sold without wheels, giving you the option of hanging the boards on your wall as quirky art or using as they were intended. The boards have plain uppers and designs on the rear, including the likes of The Ramones and Jamie Reid’s Never Mind The Bollocks and God Save The Queen Sex Pistols artwork.

They retail for around £45.

Factum Recycled Chair in Chintz

Factumchairchintz260Made from recycled and recyclable paper board, the Factum Chair in Chintz has perfect environmental credentials, but is also incredibly practical too.

It can be unfolded quickly to give you an extra chair as need, particularly useful around Christmas time to seat extra guests. When not in use, it folded way flat for easy storage. And we can’t overlook its delightfully kitsch chintz pattern, which makes it more cheerful than your average foldaway chair.

All of this for a bargain price of £28. It is available to buy online from Objects of Design.
