7731_1Pineapple Ice Buckets are the epitome of kitsch barware, but if you want something more sophisticated then may I suggest the Crayonne Ice Bucket.

Sold by Habitat in the 1960s and 1970s, the Crayonne is a simplistic yet sleek design and was produced in a range of colours and sizes. Pineapple Ice Bucket Retro has several for sale on their Ebay shop in a choice of chocolate brown, rust red, eggy yellow, orange, grass green or cream, all priced £20.

As is so often the way, they look great in a group as pictured so perhaps you could always take the seller’s advice and buy a few to use as storage jars.

There’s definitely something of the Bond villain about this Cole armchair, designed by Alex Dreyer and available from Habitat.

The egg-shaped and hand-upholstered chair is designed to be ‘as comfortable as it looks’, consisting of a moulded polyurethane foam frame with a steel base and a chcie of four leathers – brown, bronze, white and black. And each is available with a matching footstool for those lazy days.

The chairs retail for £1,199.

It’s apparently Geek Week at the Bye Bye Tokyo website, which means a load of new retro gaming and computing t-shirts.

And they’re quite eye-catching too, with images including the Pac-Man and Nintendo featured here, as well as Space Invaders and computing images, such as mouse pointers and keyboards.

Prices start at 19.90 Euros, which is just short of £14.

There seems to be a trend for reissuing vintage posters right now and while this Present & Correct Endangered Species poster isn’t actually old, it’s certainly got the look of an old school poster.

Part art, part public information service, the poster is an alphabet of endangered species in the UK, each letter featuring a textbook-like image of the living thing in decline. And that blue and brown colour scheme only adds to the retro feel.

Sized at A2 and printed on recycled paper, you can pick one of these up for £17.50 online.

Want to own a TV legend’s house? Well, now you can because Fred Dibnah’s house and workshops are up for sale at auction.

If you are from the UK, Fred needs no introduction. If you aren’t, let’s just say he was a small man in a flat cap from Bolton, obsessed with the country’s industrial heritage – and spend more or less every year from the mid-1970s on our screens telling us about it.

The property featured regularly on those shows. Built in 1851, it has everything you would expect from a three-bedroom family home, but with a cottage theme and mock beams. It also backs onto a river and is sold with Fred’s workshops, his equipment and the mining shaft he dug in his last series.

Offers are invited between £300,000 – £350,000.
