Forget a Vegas getaway, if you want a real rat pack retreat, you can check into Frank Sinatra’s Palm Springs home.
Sinatra commissioned Twin Palms in 1947, living there for 10 years. It was built by architect E. Stewart Williams, setting a marker for modern living at the time. In fact, it was even featured in a film – The Damned Don’t Cry in 1950.
And you too can spend time in the house, restored to its mid-century glory with every period fitting and decoration you can imagine. But it isn’t cheap – the house sleeps eight, with a minimum stay of three nights. That will set you back $7,800 (£473pp). But you do get a concierge thrown in. And you can hire it for weddings.

Yes, that’s cardboard – but don’t worry, the speakers are real and this flatpack player does actually play your music. Just stick in your iPod and enjoy our tunes in full 80s glory. It’s powered by 2x AA batteries and can withstand the odd shower – although I wouldn’t leave it in the rain too long.

Everyone’s favourite mid-century artist Shag has a new print set available – and the proceeds go to charity.
The Parade Of The Mysterious Shrine is a six-print serigraph set, which features Shag’s take on a classic Shriner parade and is published by the Southern California Shrine El Bekal.
The set comes in a unique Shrine-themed box and is limited to 300 copies, each with a certificate of authenticity. Al proceeds will benefit the Shriner Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles.
Which might make you feel better about the debit to your credit card of $750 (around £375).

Anna Castellis Ferrieri can lay claim to being the first female licensed architect in Italy, but more importantly, she designed the Componibili Storage Unit.
First produced by Kartell back in 1969, they are still being made today and are just as functional as they were back then. Available in a range of sizes and a choice of colours, they can be used in any room, on their own, grouped or stacked. Kartell have recently introduced a white rectangular unit or a silver rounded unit, in addition to its classic white and red rounded edge designs.
Componibili units are widely available but Espcacio has them in their summer sale with prices starting at around £40 for a two-tier unit and £56 for three-tiers.
