Polkadot – retro and vintage jewellery online

Polkadot

If you’re on the look-out for some unusual period jewellery (by that we mean something no-one else will have), it’s worth taking a look at the selection at Polkadot, which is an online store for designer vintage accessories.

Earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings dating from the 1920s to the 1990s, covering high-end labels, along with some cheaper mass market novelties. Prices start from just £15 and go up to £650 and as an example of what’s on offer, featured above is a 1960s red and white Lucite Bangle, which retails for £25 and a 1950s Christian Dior Necklace, which sells for £290.

For details of both of these and to check out the full range, visit the website.

Corgi’s limited edition Beatles Mini

Corgi_beatles_mini_1  Toy car maker Corgi is raiding the corporate cupboards and selling off its remaining stock of limited edition miniature vehicles on eBay – including this rather smart limited edition Beatles Mini.

It dates back to 2000 (although Corgi has been making Beatles models since 1965, when it introducec the die-cast Yellow Submarine). This one was part of a series of vehicles "owned, used and associated with the Fab Four", though I”m not sure which specific category this falls into. Each model will have a letter of authenticity to say they were sold as part of the Corgi auction – giving it an extra bit of exclusivity.

There’s nine available and bidding is currently at £60.
