I do love a badge – and they don’t come more hip than the Shag collector’s badges, available at the Shagmart website.
Six designs are available, all featuring a classic Shag image – Kitty, The Monitor, Brown Tiki, Green Tiki, Skull or Go Go Girl. Each retails for $19, which is around £10.
My Imaginary Boyfriend has some interesting twists on Christmas favourites, including these Vintage Headphone Christmas stockings.
They’re crafted Christmas stockings, fully lined with hand-embroidered decorative work. Except, unlike traditional stockings, these bypass the reindeers and Santas, going instead for a pair of vintage headphones – with a bit of holly sneaking in there, courtesy of of the headphone cable.
Each is 13.5 inches long and 10.5 inches wide and available in brown and pink. They retail for $60 (around £33) and ship worldwide.
It’s nice to see everyday household items getting a hip makeover – typified very much by these vintage transport tea towels by Jam Tart and available via Mirage Interiors.
Four designs – scooter, motorbike, bubble car and wagon, all 100 per cent cotton and sized at 45 x 70cm. You can pick them up for £4,50 each. Find out more at the Mirage Interiors website (bottom of page)
As regular readers are aware, we love a large cup of tea, so we’re always pleased to see more retro-styled ways to drink it – like this Domestic Diva mug.
Made of porcelain, they’re dishwasher and microwave safe and feature a design right out of a 50s domestic handbook, with the slogan: "A well dusted home is the sign of a wasted life."
We’ve featured Orla Kiely on numerous occasions, but with one eye on a weekend break in the New Year, we’re very taken by the Orla Kiely retro luggage.
You’ll certainly see this coming on the airport carousel. Available in a selection of colours (all in the vinyl car print), there are several items in the range. These include the shoulder bag and travel case (both pictured), along with a travel handbag and washbag. All items also have a cotton car print lining.
The suitcase retails for £200, the shoulder bag is £140, the travel handbag is £120 and the washbag is £45.
For full details of all the items and to view the full range of colours, check out the Orla Kiely website.
Yes, more wood in the home, this time a rather smart-looking wooden tape measure from Rockett St George.
Unlike most tape measures, this one doesn’t look like it belongs in a builder’s trouser pocket – in fact, it’ll fit into your handbag at just 4cm x 4.5cm – and you’ll look a cut above when you get it out at the local DIY store.
