eBay watch: Original George Nelson Sunburst Clock by Howard Miller

Nelson

You can get reissued George Nelson clocks, but if you want the real deal, you can bid for this original George Nelson Sunburst Clock by Howard Miller.

Indeed, the reissued Nelson Sunburst clocks go for in excess of £200, so that's not exactly a cheap option. This one is signed (see close-up on the listing) and is down as working, with some wear and tear by way of the scuffs, scratches and wear to the brass. Again, see the listing for the full breakdown.

It's certainly an eye-catching piece though, amazing that something like this was in production around 50 years ago. £78.15 is the current price.

eBay watch: 1970s Fiat 124 Spider

Fiat1

The sun is out, the sky is blue and our minds drift to thoughts of a convertible. There's no denying that this Fiat 124 Spider is a tasty number.

It dates to 1979, but was imported to the UK in 1991, racking up 91,775 miles over that time, but only 1,800 by the current owner since 1995. Some modern additions (like a CD player), but most is original, with the body work described as 'near concourse condition' and although some work could do with being carried out, it sounds like it's good to go now.

Indeed, £2,000 of work has been carried out by the current owner, so it must be in some kind of decent shape. Another image over the page or check out the site for many more. £4,500 is the current price – or grab it on 'buy it now' for £5,000.

eBay watch: 1970s Double Dijkstra Arc lamp

Dik

At first glance, you might be thinking Guzzini, but this is actually a Double Dijkstra Arc lamp.

This eye-catching 1970s design consists of two chromed metal arcs and two plastic shades, the plastic being double layered with a white interior contrasting with the brown outer shade. There's also an on/off switch and the option to move both shades individually from each other.

Fancy it? The condition is described as 'very good' and the price right now is £28.21.

eBay watch: 1971 Ford Capri 3.0 GTXLR MK1

Capri

Not sure I'm all that keen on later models, but the earlier Ford Capris are very stylish cars – like this 1971 Ford Capri 3.0 GTXLR MK1, which is on eBay right now.

It's a low-mileage mode, with just 59,000 on the clock from five owners since new, with period black vinyl roof, 'rally red' colour scheme and what's described as a 'reasonable' interior, with new carpets and door cards fitted.

A few bits and pieces still need sorting out (see listing for details), but it seems to run fine and has 12 months MOT. Tax-exempt, as you might have guessed. Still a bit of time left – £2,050 is the current price.

eBay watch: 1950s midcentury Hans Olsen dining table and chairs for Frem Rojle

Frem

When I'm looking for interesting eBay finds, I try and look for items that have low starting prices, but occasionally, quality wins out at a high price. Which brings me to this 1950s midcentury Hans Olsen dining table and chairs for Frem Rojle.

It's timeless. Designed in 1953 (with this one dating from around 1960), this Scandinavian design would fit effortlessly into most modern-day homes. Clever design too, with the chairs integrating perfectly into the the table to save space, while a quick fold turns the table into a six-seater,

Made of Burmese oak and described as being in 'very good original condition', it's up at £895.

eBay watch: 1970s Jensen Interceptor MKII

Jensen

It's an icon of an era and was once the car to be see in for the man (or woman) about town. 40 years on and this Jensen Interceptor MKII is still a car that turns heads.

Dating back to 1971, with just under 90,000 on the clock and a whopping 6,276cc engine, this particular Interceptor has apparently had £5,000 spent on it over the last nine months and has a good paint job, with just a couple of blemishes. Aside from that, most of what you see is original and tested, including the electric aerial, cigar lighter, boot interior light, under bonnet lights and door open lights. The air-con should be fine with a bit of work too.

On top of all that, this tax-exempt drive has had a full service, change of oil and new filters. Check out the photos for a close-up inspection and if you like, the opening bid is £3,000.
