Not quite a perfect example, but this 1970s Triumph Stag has originality on its side.
It's a name that always appeal to collectors, so this John and Sylvia Reid for Stag oval teak coffee table could be something to keep an eye on.
It is one of the coolest British sports of the 1970s – and this 1975 Triumph Stag is currently on eBay at just a single penny.
A useful thing and possibly a shrewd investment too – this Opus 22 bedroom suite by Walter Muller for Stag.
We usually associate the names John and Sylvia Reid with Stag, but this is actually a 1965 selection by German designer Muller, looking every bit the era too. For your money, you get a dressing table / desk with lift-up mirror (not unlike the new Stroller Desk by Steuart Padwick), a matching pair of three-drawer chests and a matching dressing stool.
Condition is described as 'very good' (see write-up for a detailed description) and the price, as I type, is 99p for the set.
Not an obvious lookers, but units like these Stag drawers by John & Sylvia Reid are becoming more collectible as the years pass.
This unit is part of the company's C range from the 1960s, made of oak and with some age-related marking, but overall, in decent condition. Those four drawers are extremely well made too – so plenty of storage for many years to come.
Price? Right now just £5.99.
Some online vintage retailers are better than others, with The Modern Warehouse certainly being in the top half, especially with items for sale like these John and Sylvia Reid sideboards for Stag for sale.
Stuning pieces of midcentury design and designers who are becoming more collectable year-on-year. Primarily because of the quality of the Stag pieces. Two avaialble together here, offering up a teak veneer with hairpin legs and simple handles, not to mention plenty of storage.
Not cheap at £2,495 for the pair, but these will be with you for years and years. See the website for more images.
