Silk hummingbird-print dress by Issa

Issa dress

Simple silhouettes and chic retro prints never fail to impress in dress styles, no matter what the decade of influence may be. This Hummingbird-Print Dress by Issa is a perfect example of the less is more rule for vintage inspiration.

Combining a forties silhouette with a simple, but whimsical multi-coloured print, the dress does an understated but effective job of modernising. The wrap style throws in some seventies edge, while the use of a chiffon silk gives this an air of the high class.

Plasticland Retro Robot Pendant

Plasticland robot

While we may be obsessing about the past on Retro To Go, back in the 1960s most people were infatuated with the future. While much of their fancy didn't come true, it has left a legacy of fantastic retro-futurism.

This Retro Robot Pendant is a perfect example of a sixties dream image of the technology of the future, and it's wonderfully kitsch. Ideally placed as a silver look pendant, this necklace is a unisex piece of retro design that's eye-catching and, above all, fun.

This Cut Out Bow Kimono Dress has meshed forties inspiration with modern touches well, giving a great retro evening look. The combination of fitting pencil skirt with a billowing blouse and high neckline creates a great forties silhouette. The designers have updated the dress with a daring backless design and bow detailing at the neck.
