William Warren Love & Hate gloves

Lovehate_gloves
The fashion for tattoos of the words ‘love’ and ‘hate’ on your knuckles seems to have long since died off. But you can revive it with these William Warren Love & Hate gloves.

Yes, if you fancy intimidating your fellow dog walkers, slip on a pair of these gloves to add a bit of menace to your hands. Except that wearing a pair of fluffy beige gloves isn’t going to intimidate anyone, no matter what you have written on the knuckles.

Available in size medium only, these retail for £37.

Designer silk tea dress from Lauren Moffatt

Lmoff2002512867_prod_mediumDesigners and high street alike have gone crazy for retro inspiration in their women’s wear this year, whether it’s Mod chic or a more demure edge like this number.

This Lauren Moffatt dress has a great retro shape, with three quarter length sleeves and a wonderful collar. The silk and gold embellishments lift it from the ordinary Little Black Dress, and the ’60s mini hemline is perfectly offset by the high neck.

Unfortunately the label and materials mean it’s by no means a bargain at $409. Still, it’d certainly turn heads.

Lace and Silk dress from the Miss Selfridge Vintage range

480101025_normalIt seems that the high street has woken up to the endless appeal of vintage and retro clothing. I’m not talking about retro prints appearing on rails everywhere, I’m talking genuine vintage. On the back of the success of Topshop’s Archive collection came Miss Selfridge’s own Vintage range.

This Lace and Silk dress is a very pretty example of their range, which, by its nature, is hit and miss most of the time. This dress is available in a size 8 and is undeniably great looking, but for a dress which they admit has a little damage the mark up of £300 seems uncalled for. Maybe vintage was best when it required some serious charity shop trawling.
