Nessino Table Lamp

Nessino Another design classic - and another item that certainly doesn't look its age - the Nessino Table Lamp by Giancarlo Mattioli.

Amazingly, this design (originally called the Nesso) is effectively 43 years old, with the design going into production by Artemide after the company ran a competition for a new design in conjunction with Domus magazine. Mattiolo won, capitalising on the explosion in plastic home furnishings. And this is plastic used well - bright colours and a simple flowing design.

The version featured here is a slightly smaller version, introduced in 2000 and called Nessino - and still retaining all that made the original such a design classic. You can pick one up for around £71.
