Ludwig Mies van der Rohe Brno armchair for Knoll

Knoll_brno I'm always amazed by the contemporary looks of designs from the modernist era - and this Brno armchair by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe is a typical example.

Originally designed back in 1930 and now available again via Knoll, its beauty is in its simplicity. A frame made from flat polished chrome, with no visible connections between the seat and frame, as well as that seat, which is made from hardwood and cushioned with high density foam. There's also Dymetrol seat suspension to boost comfort.

If you have serious cash, but a few for cool dining chairs. If you've just had a minor windfall, it would make a great office chair or armchair. Whatever you use it for, it retails for £1,386.
