Reading through the Etsy profile, Mod Mom is a marketing executive turned stay-at-home mum and self-taught furniture designer/builder, specialising in mid-century-inspired kids’ furniture. Like this rather cool Gracie Toy Box.

Made from birch with the option of maple, natural birch or walnut staining (which also protects), the box has a slow-closing lid to avoid ‘finger mishaps’, 50s-style tapered legs and enough storage for even the most spoilt big or small kid (sized at 19.5 inches tall, 3ft high and 15 inches deep).

Available directly from the seller, it sells for $375 (around £190).

  1. Thanks for the post! The Gracie was the first toy box I designed and built — and it’s named after my daughter — so it’s pretty special to me. Thanks again!
