G Plan Vintage The Fifty Five Armchair at John Lewis

Gplan1

A name we have featured in the past is back with some great design for the present, courtesy of the G Plan Vintage The Fifty Five Armchair.

This is something of a rebranding of G Plan, a project in collaboration with Hemingway Design and exclusive to John Lewis that is producing designs inspired by G Plan designs of the 1950s and '60s.

The first of those designs are appearing now, including The Fifty Five Armchair, which is, as you might have guessed, based on a mid-1950s piece. We love the period shape, the upholstery and the turned/angled legs. But best of all, we love the wood details on the arms, something you don't see a lot of these days.

Gplan2

Of course, it is G Plan built, which means each one is handcrafted in the UK and comes with a 10-year guarantee. So you are buying quality. If you want one of these, £799 is the retail price.
