Originally designed for Heal's department store just after the war, the Ernest Race DA1 Easy Chair is now back on the market.

It's looking pretty good for its age too. The chair, which dates back to 1946, was originally produced as part of a series of easy chairs for the modern home of the era, far lighter than the bulky chairs more commonly seen in home of the day.

These days, the hight-back chair looks reassuringly midcentury, but its forward thinking design still cuts it in the modern era. The frame is in steel rod with cast aluminium legs, covered in a Bute Clyde fabric in a choice of five colours.

If you want one for your home, the price is £2,832.
